The most charming aspect of this 19th C Antique Armenian Kazak rug is the depiction of the man and wife in the top left hand corner of the indigo-blue field. Could this have been a marriage rug? Above the young couple the inscription reads “Մէլեկկպա, Մա(յ)իս խալին” or in English “Melekkpa’s (name), Mayis’ (name) rug”. 2.01 m x 1.47 m (6' 7" x 4' 10")
