Armenian Fachralo Kazak dated 1913 with a full, chunky pile woven for those cold, mountainous Caucasian climates. Deep, saturated colors with an “S” serpent border and loads of ancient symbolism. Though it has an Islamic date, it does not preclude Armenian provenance. Even after the Russians extended Christian dominion over most of the Caucasus, Islamic dates were standard in areas controlled by either Turks or Persians. They were ordinarily used at that time by Christians as well. 7'1" x 4'0"
